Our Mission

KidS3 is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that was established to give HOPE (Jeremiah 29:11) to kids in state care and equip them with the SKILLS and SUPPORT necessary for SUCCESS. Our belief is that by equipping these kids with the appropriate skills and support, we can better prepare and equip them for the challenges and opportunities they will face once they emancipate from the system.

Did You KNow?

Current statistics regarding the outcomes of children and youth in the foster care system:
  • 25% chance of becoming homeless at the age of 18.
  • 1 in 4 will be incarcerated within the first 2 years after leaving the system.
  • Of youth who aged out of foster care and are over the age of 25, less than 3% earned their college degrees, compared with 28% of the population.
  • 97% of hard-core juvenile delinquents reported a history of severe physical punishment and/or assault in the home.
  • 2 of every 3 prisoners convicted of first-degree murder report childhood histories of abuse.
  • 90% of female prostitutes had been sexually molested.

How do we do this?

This is accomplished through a series of programs, camps, and events that instill hope, teach character, team-building and other life skills, as well as job skills such as budgeting and interviewing. Finally, we will engage them in service to their community through service projects. Most importantly, our goal is to provide these kids with the necessary support and an advocate that will be there for them throughout their time in state care and beyond. The kids involved in our programming come from various county DFCS, group homes and foster agencies. Bethany Christian Services, Community Connections and Faithbridge Fostercare have been partners since our first year of camp.
